Jul. 18–BEIRUT — The Beirut Judicial Police announced Friday that its personnel had apprehended a tiffanys thief employed at a jeweller’s, whose accomplice remained at large. A statement from the Internal Security Forces (ISF) said that a 33-year-old worker at a Beirut jewelry store had been taken into custody after allegedly pulling off the inside job. The suspect confessed to fencing the stolen jewelry with the aid of three people who were already in custody. The police are now searching for the suspect’s accomplice in the theft. In a separate statement, the ISF announced Friday that its personnel had arrested 73 people infractions all over Lebanon. The people arrested were wanted on to numerous warrants and sentences. — The Daily Star
