Instead of “waiting for the world tochange,” as John Mayer sings, Brighton is tiffany taking a more proactive approach. The Los Angeles based Accessory and Lifestyle Company has designed a braceletto inspire change and raise money for four non-profit organizations workingtowards peace. Brighton’s Peace Bracelet features eight different charms withmessages including: teach peace, peace starts within, and be the change youwish to see in the world.

Jerry Kohl, Brighton’s founder and CEO, grew up in the 60’s and still remembers that time of idealism. “We believed that we could change the world,” Kohl explains. He hasn’t forgotten that time and does not want others to either. Kohl decided to ask everyone he knew, “What does peace mean to you?” Dozens of people answered and the answers were as individual as their fingerprints: peace between countries, an end to world hunger, safe streets for their child, getting along with family, friends and neighbors.

Kohl’s desire to have the world still believe and work towards peace inspired him to create Brighton’s very own bracelet to promote the cause. Kohl hopes that the Peace Bracelet will inspire thoughts, conversations and actions towards peace, in addition to raising money to support these causes.

Each customer who purchases Brighton’s Peace Bracelet will be able to direct the bangles funds from their purchase to a charity that is close to their heart. Participating charities include: Seeds of Peace, Women for Women International, USA Cares and Action Against Hunger. Each bracelet comes with a booklet sharing the many diverse responses to Kohl’s question, “What does peace mean to you?”

Donations will benefit the customer’s choice of the following four organizations:

Seeds of Peace is dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence. www.seedsofpeace.org
